Sponsorship V24 Power Boat Racing V24 has just completed its third successive year of racing in Europe. The sport continues to grow with new boats starting each racing season. This season Stancold have been the proud sponsors of the UKpowerboatracing.com team boat. During the season members of Stancold staff were invited to ride in the V24 and experience the capabilities of these awesome machines. The V24 is an internationally approved high performance gulled-wing race boat designed by the renowned race boat designer, Ocke Mannerfelt. These boats have been specifically designed for close inshore racing and provide an amazing visual spectacle as boats reach speeds of up to 80mph weaving through a tight and demanding course or just screaming along the straights by the shore. The throbbing inboard engine that is used started life as a Chevrolet small block 5.7 litre V8. This is the mighty engine that powers the famous Chevrolet Corvette. The boat is only 24 foot long and weighs 1250kg, giving a fantastic power to weight ratio of 280 bhp per ton. These boats are fast, fun and very, very loud! |
