Stancold Join Iacsc Technical Committee

IACSC

Stancold have accepted the invitation to join the technical committee of the International Association for Cold Storage Construction (IACSC).

Rob White, Contracts Director of Stancold, is looking forward to playing his part:

"We will offer our contributions and experience from sixty years within the trade to the committee, and play a more active role in the growth and success of our industry."

The specific aims of the IACSC are:
  • To develop, collect and correlate relevant educational information for members and the public.
  • To promote high standards and coordinate communications and activities between contractors, suppliers, architects, designers and engineers.
  • To provide national representation between the industry and government departments and agencies, other agency groups and the public.
  • To initiate and develop studies to help the industry be competitive now and in the future.

Going from strength to strength

In 1978 a small group of insulation contractors formed an association representing contractors who serve the specific needs of the cold storage industry. The purpose and objectives were soon refined, and in 1981 the first annual conference was held. A Technical Committee was formed to serve the membership and a building code and publications were developed. In 1987 the European Division was set up and in 2003 the name was changed to the International Association of Cold Storage Contractors.
