We’re pleased to report back on another successful project completion for a new client in Hampshire, where the team worked hard to install four new chilled units within a new warehouse.
Collaborating with a commercial workplace specialist on this project, the new internal facilities will house the final part of the client’s production line, where components must be chilled to around 2°C before undergoing tests and then released into the ambient warehouse. However, where temperature is sometimes required as high as 26°C, sourcing a system that could operate such a range was an important part of this project’s specification.
Stancold’s temperature-controlled projects specialist, Sam Taylor, worked closely with the contractor to best accommodate the end user’s requirements. Where two of the rooms were to be constructed beneath an 8m-high mezzanine floor, careful planning considerations were put in place to safely work in and around this space, while still achieving the desired design.
Thanks to its superior insulating properties and white food-safe laminate finish, Kingspan’s QuadCore panel system was utilised throughout the build to install around 770m²… Roughly three tennis courts!
Sam was also able to recommend a suitable door option to allow for a crane that would operate within the facility day-to-day. The space-saving advantages of roller shutter doors over alternatives made the most logistical sense between rooms and the main warehouse space and were then included as part of Stancold’s package.
It’s been great to see the progress made throughout these works and we look forward to a busy year ahead with similar projects.
